Shadowrun (SR) has always been a terribly dark and sexy setting for me. It’s also been incredibly intimidating, so I’m glad to be in a place where I’m trying to tackle that particular demon. My Friday night is taking a break from our Twelve Signs campaign. I’ve been running Twelve Signs for nearly 5 years now, so it’s a nice time for a break. We plan to come back to it next year sometime.
In the meantime we want to try a couple of things starting with SR. There is a lot of love for SR at our table, and at least one SR newbie. I’m going to be leaning on the crutch of pre-written adventures for this one, but I’ve also got quite a bit backlog that I should be able to work into a game.
A long time ago (well it feels like it), I played in a SR game where much of playtime was spent in day-to-day life on the streets of Seattle. It was really nice and felt a little bit like the Odd Couple with orcs and guns. Thats unlikely to be how my game plays out, but I like the possibilities.
